3.40 Cheltenham

Paul Nicholls has a superb 26% win rate over the last 14 days with 9 wins from the last 35 runs.

Danny Kirwin has undergone wind surgery since his last run which often brings on improvement in horses.  He won last time out in a hurdle race by 14 lengths and looks just the type to take to chasing.  He won a point to point in his first race by 11 lengths which hints at the potential he has in this sphere. He has previously won a class 3 three so the class will be fine. The trip and the ground will be ok too.

Harry Cobden has been in fantastic form with a 29% win rate over the last fortnight.

4.15 Cheltenham

2m4f (2m3f200y) (Old) Abu Dhabi Digital Exchange Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) (3yo+ 0-140)

Art Approval returns after a 199 day break to race here. He has received good market support. He is a versatile horse where ground is concerned. He won a class 3 over 2m1f last time out by 2 ¼ lengths and was raised 3lb which he will cope with fine.  The race before he won a class four over 2m2 ½ lengths. He should be capable of 2 ½ miles so the trip is no concern.

Fergal O’Brien has won 38 from 162 hurdle races this GB season which is a 23% win rate.  He is currently leading the trainer’s table with a superb effort so far this season.

The mighty Paddy Brennan is in the saddle.  He is excellent at riding hurdle races with a 29% record this GB season.

3m1f (Old) Andy Stewart Memorial Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase (Class 3) (4yo+ 0-125)

Marquis of Carabas the new recruit to the excellent Fergal O’Brien yard looks to be the answer in this big handicap.  He has been dropped back to his winning chase mark after having 900 days off. He has been backed in to favourite which is significant for an 11 year old horse. He will have sheep skin cheek pieces which seem to help him and Fergal will have him sharp for this.

Mr Derek O’Conner rides. He has a good record chasing in both Great Britain and Ireland and will be able to get the best out his horse.
