Buick vs Murphy for 11/10/2021

The run in for the flat jockey’s championship is really heating up between Oisin Murphy and William Buick. 

The flat jockey’s championship runs between Saturday 1st May and Saturday 16th October so there is not long left to go.

The jockeys will be going out of their way trying to gain winning rides over the next few days and trainers will be falling over themselves to provide them. It should be a thrilling run in. As of this morning there were only 6 wins between them but Buick has already eaten into the lead with a win on Pocket the Profit in the first at Wolverhampton.

Buick is at Wolverhampton today and Oisin has elected to go to Kempton which makes sense as they will not be taking wins from each other.  Oisin really could have use the rides he missed on Friday to get ahead a little.

As punters it should pay to look for the best rides each day until Saturday.

Buick

5.10 Wolverhampton Toromona 

The Appleby/Buick dream team needs no introduction and Charlie has provided him a good chance to catch up here.

Murphy

5.30 Kempton Under Oath

Hard to support a filly with form that reads 777.  Murphy is great but it would take a big dollop of luck to win on this.

6.00 Kempton Bellstreet Bridie 

The market is hot for this one with all the bookmakers on the Racingpost odds comparison showing money is coming.  I feel it might be the Oisin effect though shrinking the price. Should prefer the trip but draw 14 is very wide. This race looks wide open.

6.30 Kempton Puerto De Vega 

It would take a brave man to bet against Pinball Wizard in this race and this gelding is drifting in the market.

7.30 Kempton Cu Chulainn

Second on his debut and he can build on that as he was only just beaten last time.

8.00 Kempton Beloved

Looks like one of his best chances tonight and this low mileage Frankel filly can certainly improve on her last race where she came an excellent second just touched off by ¾ lengths. The price is still attractive.

8.30 Kempton Restitution

This would have made a good EW bet but I feel the value has gone already as this looks possible but definitely difficult to win.
